Islamabad: (Right Now News) The Auditor General of Pakistan’s audit report reveals that contractors in the K4 project have not returned 9.2 billion rupees in mobilization advance. This breach of contract terms has resulted in significant financial gains for the contractors.

The audit report recommends immediate recovery of the outstanding amount. It also emphasizes strict adherence to contract terms to ensure compliance.

According to the report, from May to September 2022, five contractors were awarded seven contracts. In June and November 2022, they received 14.71 billion rupees as mobilization advance.

The significance of this issue lies in the financial loss to the public treasury due to contract violations. This amount could delay the completion of national projects.

It is important to note that the K4 project is crucial for water supply in Karachi. Its timely completion will help alleviate the water shortage problem for residents.
