Islamabad: (Right Now News) The Federal Development Program 2026-27 has allocated significant funds for higher education, science, and technology. A total of 46 billion rupees has been earmarked for higher education and research, marking a notable increase from last year’s 34.9 billion rupees.

This funding will enable scholarships for deserving students and enhance the research capabilities of universities. The Pakistan Education and Research Network will also be upgraded with this fund. There is a commitment to promote digital learning and an educational system based on artificial intelligence (AI).

A sum of 3.6 billion rupees has been allocated for science and technology. These funds will support technology transfer and promote small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Encouragement will be given to technological advancements in renewable energy and agriculture.

According to the Prime Minister’s vision, there is a focus on delivering basic education to the underprivileged segments of society. Twenty-two billion rupees have been allocated for Danish Schools, which provide quality education to children with limited resources.

It is noteworthy that 26.3 billion rupees have been set aside in the federal budget for school and college education. This fund will be used for teacher training, increasing enrollments, and promoting digital learning.
