Islamabad: (Right Now News) Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Ishaq Dar, has stated that diplomatic efforts are ongoing for the safe return of Pakistani and Iranian sailors detained by U.S. authorities. These sailors were arrested near Singapore for allegedly violating Iran’s maritime blockade.

Ishaq Dar announced on social media that he contacted Singapore’s Foreign Minister, requesting cooperation for the welfare of 11 Pakistani and 20 Iranian sailors. He mentioned that these ships are near Singapore’s maritime borders.

The Deputy Prime Minister also communicated with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi, emphasizing that both countries are in close contact. Pakistan is prepared to assist in the return of Iranian citizens as well.

Pakistan has appreciated Singapore’s cooperation, and the Foreign Office is in contact with U.S. authorities and other parties. Efforts are ongoing to ensure the safety and prompt return of Pakistani sailors.

It should be noted that this incident occurred when U.S. forces seized the ships on allegations of violating Iran’s maritime blockade.
