Karachi: (Right Now News) The oil and gas reserves discovered in Gambat, Sindh in 2014 have commenced production. Pakistan Petroleum Limited has informed the Pakistan Stock Exchange that these reserves were previously inactive due to infrastructure deficiencies.

According to the company, modern technology was used to resolve underground complexities, and a 4.5-kilometer feeder line was laid. This project has activated the well’s production capacity.

PPL reports that the well is producing 3.6 MMSCFD of gas and 750 barrels of light oil daily. This process began on February 25, 2026, and has been gradually expanded.

This initiative is expected to positively impact the national economy as oil and gas production plays a crucial role in meeting the country’s energy needs.

It is noteworthy that these reserves were discovered in 2014, but production could not start due to infrastructure issues. Now, with modern technology, the project has been completed.
