Islamabad: (Right Now News) Ongoing load shedding across the country has caused difficulties for the public, as the power shortfall has reached 4,820 megawatts.

The total electricity demand in the country is 22,000 megawatts, while production is only 17,180 megawatts. This results in a significant gap between demand and supply.

According to officials, 4,500 megawatts are generated from hydropower sources, 7,900 megawatts from thermal power plants, and 2,880 megawatts from nuclear power plants.

The remaining electricity production includes 420 megawatts from solar power, 100 megawatts from bagasse, and 1,380 megawatts from wind power. This has led to up to 8 hours of load shedding nationwide.

It is important to note that the imbalance between electricity demand and production has been affecting daily life for years and remains a major challenge for the government.
