Islamabad: (Right Now News). Following the disqualification of PTI Senator Murad Saeed, the Election Commission has postponed the Senate by-election for the vacant seat. The by-election was initially scheduled for April 23.

During a hearing at the Election Commission, the petitioner Jalal Khan’s lawyer argued that Murad Saeed had not taken the oath, and thus his seat could not be declared vacant. They requested the postponement of the election.

The Election Commission has issued notices to the parties involved and postponed the by-election for the vacant seat until the next hearing. The next hearing is scheduled for May 6.

Murad Saeed was sentenced to 10 years by the Rawalpindi Anti-Terrorism Court, leading to his disqualification under Article 63(1)(h).

It is noteworthy that following Murad Saeed’s disqualification, the Senate seat became vacant, and a by-election schedule was announced.
