Islamabad talks have boosted the stock market, with the index surpassing 167,000 points.
Islamabad: (Right Now News) Ongoing talks in Islamabad regarding the US-Iran ceasefire have generated positive expectations. As a result, a surge was observed in the Pakistan Stock Exchange along with other Asian markets, with the index surpassing the 166,000 and 167,000 point levels.
This surge led to an increase in the prices of 88.21% of shares, with the total share value rising by 208 billion 44 crore 83 lakh 75 thousand 698 rupees. The market remained in the green zone during trading sessions, and the KSE 100 Index closed at 167,191.37 points, up by 1,673.86 points.
In the international bullion market, the price of gold per ounce increased by 30 dollars, reaching 4,753 dollars. In local gold markets, the price of gold per tola rose by 3,000 rupees to 497,662 rupees, while the price per 10 grams increased by 2,572 rupees to 426,664 rupees.
In the foreign exchange markets, the rupee remained strong against the dollar on Friday. In the interbank market, the dollar’s value decreased by 1 paisa, closing at 279 rupees 1 paisa, while in the open currency market, the dollar’s value decreased by 14 paisas, closing at 280 rupees 18 paisas.
It is noteworthy that the ongoing talks in Islamabad aim to reduce tensions between the US and Iran. This is expected to stabilize Asian markets and positively impact Pakistan’s economy.
